Yu-Gi-Oh! duel simulator: test your deck against the meta

Yu-Gi-Oh! onlyLast updated

The TCGenius duel simulator has a trained bot play your Yu-Gi-Oh! deck against an opponent's deck in the real game engine, game after game, and reports your win rate with a 95% range, split going first and going second. Free accounts get 1 run a day; Pro gets 15 and "Prove this deck".

What problem it solves

Testing a deck properly takes dozens of games against the decks you'll actually face. Most players don't have a testing partner on the meta deck, and a few games prove nothing either way.

The simulator plays the games for you. The same bot pilots both decks, so the result compares the decks rather than the players, and the range tells you how sure the number is.

How it works

  1. Open your deck in the Yu-Gi-Oh! builder and choose an opponent: a tournament deck, a saved deck, a community deck, or a friend's list or .ydk.
  2. Start the run. Free runs play 20 games per opponent; Pro can choose 20, 40 or 100.
  3. A trained bot plays both decks on the actual game engine.
  4. You get the win rate with a 95% range, results going first and second, the average number of turns, and a sample win and loss.
  5. On Pro, "Prove this deck" plays each version Genny built, 30 games against each of the top 4 meta decks, and lets you switch to the winner.

Questions

Is there a Yu-Gi-Oh! simulator that plays against the meta?

Yes. On TCGenius you pick a meta deck as the opponent and a trained bot plays both sides in the real game engine. Free accounts get one run a day.

How accurate is the win rate?

It comes with a 95% range. With 20 games the range is wide, so treat it as a direction; with 100 games (Pro) it narrows. Both decks are played by the same bot, so it compares decks, not players.

Can I test against my friend's deck?

Yes. Paste their list or load their .ydk as the opponent.

What is "Prove this deck"?

A Pro feature. It plays every version of the deck Genny built, 30 games against each of the top 4 meta decks, and lets you switch to the version that won most.

How many simulations do I get?

Free accounts get 1 a day. Pro gets 15 a day, and "Prove this deck" counts toward them.
