Pokémon TCG deck builder for Standard
The TCGenius Pokémon deck builder makes 60-card decks for the Standard format and checks them as you build: regulation mark H and newer, at most 4 copies of a card by name (Basic Energy excepted), one ACE SPEC and at least one Basic Pokémon. You can build by hand, start from a recent top-8 list, or ask Genny. It's free.
What problem it solves
Every year Standard rotates and a whole regulation mark leaves. A deck that was legal last season can quietly stop being legal, and reprints make it harder to tell which printing of a card you can play.
The builder reads each card's regulation mark and name, applies the reprint rule, and tells you exactly which card is the problem. When a reprint's wording changed, it shows the card as unconfirmed rather than guessing.
How it works
- Open the Pokémon builder.
- Start from a winning list (recent top-8 decks), paste a list, search for cards, or ask Genny to build around a Pokémon you like.
- The checker counts to exactly 60, holds every name to 4 copies, allows one ACE SPEC and checks each card's regulation mark against Standard.
- Ask Genny how the deck plays, what to change, or how it lines up against the decks winning now.
- Copy the list to paste into Pokémon TCG Live, or open any card's TCGplayer price.

Questions
How many cards are in a Pokémon deck?
Exactly 60. You can run at most 4 copies of any card with the same name, except Basic Energy, only one ACE SPEC card, and you need at least one Basic Pokémon.
Which cards are legal in Pokémon Standard?
Cards with regulation mark H or newer, plus Basic Energy, plus older printings of a card whose name and text match a legal one. The builder checks this for every card.
Does the builder support Expanded?
Not yet. The Pokémon builder checks Standard only.
Where do the starting decklists come from?
From top-8 finishes at public Pokémon TCG tournaments over the last 30 days, mostly online and community events with at least 32 players. They're counted by share of top-8 lists, not win rate.
Can I export my deck to Pokémon TCG Live?
Yes. Copy the list and paste it into Pokémon TCG Live's deck import.
Is it free?
Yes. The builder and the Standard check are free, and free accounts get 5 Genny questions a day.
