Is a booster box worth opening?

For each set: the average value of the cards in one sealed booster box, worked out from the set's single-card prices and its pull rates, next to what the box costs sealed. Sorted by value against price (cards worth $1 or more). Prices checked .

No sets to show tonight.

Cards under $1 are bulk: they rarely sell one at a time, so the main number counts them as $0. The other column counts them at market price. Sets we have no citable pull rates for aren't listed.

Where the pull rates come from

How it works

For each rarity: the cards of that rarity you get in a box × the average TCGplayer market price of the set's own printings at that rarity (a Secret Rare's price is the Secret Rare printing in this set, not a cheaper reprint). Printings with no market price are left out of the average and counted on each set's page. The chance of pulling one card assumes every card of a rarity is equally likely. Official rates are what the publisher states. Community estimates come from people counting their openings, and real boxes vary a lot.

Prices change every day. This is an average over many boxes, not a promise about yours: one box can land far above or far below it. It is not financial advice.
