Yu-Gi-Oh! card rulings

Yu-Gi-Oh! onlyLast updated

TCGenius keeps the official rulings for Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, collected from public references that cite Konami's rulings database and judge Q&As. Open a card in the Yu-Gi-Oh! builder to read its rulings, or ask Genny a ruling question and she answers from the card text and those rulings.

What problem it solves

Yu-Gi-Oh! rulings are hard: card text has its own grammar ("if", "when", "you can"), and the answer to "does this negate that?" is often in a ruling rather than on the card.

Having the rulings next to the card, and a coach whose answer is checked against them, gets you a straight answer faster.

How it works

  1. Open a card in the Yu-Gi-Oh! builder to see its rulings.
  2. Or ask Genny, for example "Can Ash Blossom negate this?".
  3. She reads the card text and the rulings before answering.
  4. A second check compares her answer with the card text and the official rules, and mistakes are fixed before you see it.

Questions

Where do the Yu-Gi-Oh! rulings come from?

From public rulings references that cite Konami's official rulings database and judge Q&As. Genny reads them before answering a ruling question.

Can Genny answer a ruling question?

Yes. Ask in plain words. She reads both cards and their rulings first, and her answer is checked against the card text before you see it.

Are Genny's rulings official?

No. TCGenius isn't affiliated with Konami. For a tournament, your head judge has the final word.

Are there rulings for Pokémon or One Piece cards?

Not as a separate list. Genny answers rules questions in those builders from the official rulebooks and tournament rules.

Is it free?

Yes. Rulings are free to read, and free accounts get 5 Genny questions a day.
