Yu-Gi-Oh! in October 2026: what's winning, what's new, and how to test your deck

October 6, 2026 · TCGenius

If you play Yu-Gi-Oh! right now, three things matter: which decks are topping events, what Beyond the Brave adds on October 8, and whether your own list can keep up. Here is each one, using the numbers TCGenius checks every night.

What's winning in the TCG

Since September 22 we've counted 275 top-cut decks from Regionals and YCS events. Two decks own almost half of them.

Light and Darkness Ritual7226%
Elfnote5620%

Invoked135%

Branded114%

The last weekend of September shows the same picture. Elfnote won Duluth and Kissimmee, Light and Darkness Ritual won Santiago, and Invoked took Catskill. Every winner and decklist is on our tournament page.

What's winning in Master Duel

Master Duel is more spread out. Across 838 top ladder and tournament lists since September 6, Dracotail leads with 11%, followed by Branded, Clown Crew and Sky Striker at 6 to 7% each. See the Master Duel top decks.

Beyond the Brave, October 8

Beyond the Brave has 100 cards, 99 of them new to the TCG. It brings support for Ashtra, Dark Time Wizard, Angelechy, Atlantis, Ars Magna and Adamancipator.

Two of its cards are already proven, because they came out in Japan first: Verre, the Maid of Endymion and Clown Crew Cappello each show up in 11 recent top decks we track. After that, Magnificent Maestros follows on November 12.

The ban list

The current TCG Forbidden & Limited list took effect on September 21, 2026. We check Konami's official list every night, and the ban list page shows every card plus any announced changes with their dates. Genesys players can see all 758 point costs on the Genesys page.

How to check your own deck

Reading a meta report tells you what's winning. It doesn't tell you whether your deck can beat it. TCGenius does three things for that:

  1. Grade it. Paste your list and see how it scores against the exact decks in the table above.
  2. Open hands. Draw test hands, or tick any cards and see the exact chance you open them.
  3. Prove it. The simulator plays your deck hundreds of times against the top decks in the real game engine and shows your win rate with an honest range.

Every deck Genny builds is checked in code against the live ban list and copy limits, so she can't hand you an illegal card. Try it with your deck.
